Harrison Healthcare comes out on top

Community pharmacy Harrison Healthcare in Belfast created the most successful in-store campaign for this year’s Migraine & Headache Awareness Week.

The pharmacy impressed the judges with its efforts and commitment of implementing a combination of in-store displays, an on-site training presentation to prepare employees and Facebook posts to drive customers to the store for advice and information.

The staff at Harrison Healthcare also implemented a strategy targeting people who they knew suffered from these conditions, which helped the pharmacy stand out and positioned it as a prime example of best practice. Its win led to a charitable donation to Migraine Action from Nurofen Express manufacturer RB.

Migraine and Headache Awareness Week saw Nurofen Express and Migraine Action team together to highlight how migraines and headaches can be better managed by treating them early and with the right medicines at the correct dosage. Over five thousand Nurofen Express and Migraine Action activation packs were distributed across the UK to encourage conversations with customers and help pharmacies offer information and advice about how to manage symptoms quickly and effectively.

Simon Evans, chief executive of Migraine Action, said: “We were so impressed by the commitment from the pharmacy community to help customers better manage migraines and headaches.”

Dr Samantha Bradley, head of professional relations and medical marketing for RB UK, manufacturer of Nurofen Express added: “We are pleased so many pharmacies got involved with the campaign and made use of the activation packs to refresh their knowledge and assist customers in making appropriate treatment decisions. We hope pharmacy teams will be encouraged to continue to proactively support customers, reinforcing important messages of onset of treatment and correct dose to improve outcomes.”
