XeraCalm A.D is a new range of Eau Thermale Avène products aimed at sufferers of eczema. The range includes a lipid replenishing cream, balm and cleansing oil that work to restore the barrier function of the skin and relieve itching, says manufacturer Pierre Fabre Laboratories.

The launch follows research commissioned by the company that revealed eczema affects one in five children and one in 12 adults, yet 18 per cent of sufferers have never found an effective solution. Clinical trials demonstrated a high tolerance (96 per cent) for the range, and resulted in a 97 per cent reduction in itching and 100 per cent improvement in skin dryness after one month, explains the company.
