The role that community pharmacy teams can play in helping people to stay healthy through winter and reduce pressure on other NHS services is being promoted by the national pharmacy organisations, including PSNC and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

Culminating in a day of political campaigning on 21 November, the pharmacy winter campaign offers a chance to renew media and political interest in community pharmacy. 

PSNC is urging pharmacies to get involved by adding a ‘Twibbon’ to social media accounts and using #pharmacywinter throughout the campaign to show the difference that pharmacy teams are making. Pharmacies can also invite local councillors to visit their pharmacy to raise awareness of pharmacy’s key role in winter healthcare, or encourage local MPs to attend a drop-in session in Parliament. A WePharmacists Tweetchat will round off the day at 8-9pm.
