PV and PHP advocate best practice

Pharmacy Voice (PV) has teamed up with Pfizer Healthy Partnerships (PHP) to launch Talking Point, a series of publications which aim to advocate best practice in community pharmacy.

Targeted at commissioners and those working in the community pharmacy sector, the publications outline successful programmes, initiatives and individuals within community pharmacy across England. They will be mailed out across the LPC network, to directors of public health and used by PV and PHP at conferences and events. The next issue will be published in January 2016 and Pharmacy Voice welcomes submissions for inclusion in the publication.

Rob Darracott, chief executive of Pharmacy Voice commented: “Pharmacy Voice has created Talking Point as a direct response to the many stakeholders in the NHS and beyond who recognise the potential in community pharmacy but told us they often struggle to find examples of best practice. The publication also responds to feedback from local pharmacy teams who have shared that it can be difficult to learn from other areas how to get great services off the ground. We hope that Talking Point, launched with Pfizer’s support, will inspire those who read it to see what is possible and ultimately to help secure better opportunities to provide more care for patients."

Paul Wilson, commercial account director at Pfizer added: “Now more than ever before, it is widely recognised that pharmacists will play an increasingly integral role within our dynamic health service... We are delighted to be working alongside Pharmacy Voice to provide a means of sharing best practice in pharmacy, bringing to life examples of delivering exceptional patient care across England. We hope this series of publications will assist in improving the integration of patient care in the community setting.”
