RB and Migraine Action raise awareness

RB, manufacturer of Nurofen, has teamed up with the charity Migraine Action to raise awareness of headaches and migraine and educate people about taking the right dose of medicine at the right time to relieve pain. As part of the partnership, 10,000 activity packs are being sent out to pharmacies in the first week of August ahead of Migraine and Headache Awareness Week (6-12 September) to engage the local community and drive footfall in-store. The packs include training materials, patient pathway scratch cards and tools to publicise pharmacy as a local headache and migraine specialist.

Research shows that 37 per cent of headache and migraine sufferers wait more than 30 minutes after the onset of pain before taking painkillers and one in three admit they do not follow dosage advice. On the plus side, 63 per cent said they would treat their headache earlier if recommended to do so by a healthcare professional.
