Vaginal problems such as thrush and bacterial vaginosis (BV) are very common and can usually be easily treated. However, despite the widespread nature of these conditions, they are still likely to cause embarrassment for your customers, so it’s important that you handle requests for treatment with tact as well as expertise.
Both thrush and bacterial vaginosis (BV) are common conditions, and some women will suffer more than once.
Objectives
This module will tell you how to:
- Recognise the symptoms and causes of thrush
- Differentiate between the symptoms of thrush and BV
- Understand the actions and uses of different types of treatments available
- Offer additional advice to the customer to manage the condition
- Know when to refer to the pharmacist.
