GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has launched new packaging for Beechams Max Strength All In One tablets alongside a new ‘Boss it with Beechams’ marketing campaign. Running from September 2019 to February 2020, the campaign is backed by a £3.9 million media spend and will be supported by TV, advertising, social, radio and digital searches. The aim of the campaign is to demonstrate how people defy their colds with Beechams by their side and on the go, explains GSK. Beechams Max Strength All In One contains paracetamol, guaifenesin and phenylephrine hydrochloride and directly targets pain and congestion associated with cold and flu, adds the company.

Care Decongestant Tablets relieve nasal, sinus and upper chest congestion by restricting blood vessels, reducing swelling and decreasing the production of mucus, according to manufacturer Thornton & Ross. The sugar-free tablets are suitable for children over the age of 12 and adults but should not be used during the first three months of pregnancy, the company adds.

Herpotherm is a topical treatment based on heat, which can provide fast and effective relief from the symptoms of cold sores such as itching, tingling and skin tightness, according to manufacturer Mibe Pharma. The pocket-sized device provides up to 100 applications per battery life, making it a cost-effective and practical treatment solution, says the company. Herpotherm uses heat-therapy technology proven to reduce the duration of each outbreak by up to 50 per cent compared to other commonly used methods, adds the manufacturer. Herpotherm is suitable for adults, children, allergy sufferers and pregnant women, according to the company.

The Jakemans range contains the active ingredient menthol which releases natural vapours to soothe the symptoms of a sore throat and keep airways clear, explains manufacturer LanesHealth. The full range includes 100g bags in flavours including Blueberry, Peppermint, Menthol & Eucalyptus and Blackcurrant. The Throat & Chest, Honey & Lemon and Cherry flavours are also available in a stick pack format. Jakemans is supporting 2019/20 seasonal demand with a media spend of circa £1.9 million to drive sales and increase awareness of the range. The campaign will include TV advertising from November until mid-January, supported with PR and an out-of-home advertising campaign in London.

Olbas is a decongestant made with a combination of plant oils including eucalyptus, mint, clove juniper berry and cajuput to effectively relieve congestion, according to manufacturer LanesHealth. The range includes Olbas Oil, which is suitable for adults and children aged three months and over; Olbas for Children, which is formulated especially for infants over three months for use both day and night to relieve noses to ease natural breathing; and Olbas Nasal Spray, which is clinically proven to unblock the nasal passages and prevent the spread of infections for adults and children aged six and over, explains the company.

The Puressentiel respiratory range contains essential oils such as eucalyptus radiata, ravintsara and thyme, to help fight winter respiratory symptoms, according to Puressentiel. Products include Hypertonic Nasal Spray to clean and quickly decongest; Respiratory Balm to calm coughs and soothe the respiratory tract; Respiratory Air Spray to boost the immune system and clear the airways; and Respiratory Blend, which has soothing properties to help breathing, claims Puressentiel. In addition, the Puressentiel Purifying Air Spray combines 41 essential oils, which act as a natural biocide and improves indoor air quality, according to the manufacturer.

Bio-Oil is a clinically-proven, specialist skincare range that includes Bio-Oil Skincare Oil and Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel. In the latest clinical trial for Bio-Oil Skincare Oil, manufacturer Perrigo says 92 per cent of people saw an improvement in the appearance of scars after eight weeks and 95 per cent of people saw an improvement in the appearance of stretch marks after two weeks. The range includes the Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patch, which offers pain relief through a self-adhesive patch applied directly to the skin; Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Gel, which offers fast-acting, soothing pain relief with cold therapy, giving targeted relief at the site of pain; and Deep Freeze Pain Relief Glide-on Gel, which delivers the cooling gel via a rollerball.
