Osentia is the first clinically proven at-home osteoporosis screening test to assess an individual’s risk of suffering fragility fractures, which are a common sign of osteoporosis.
Osentia (rrp £39.99) is a quick, simple and accurate non-invasive test that provides results in just seven days, said manufacturer Crescent Ops. The test analyses a fingernail or toenail clipping, looking for changes in the nail structure, with users receiving a personalised risk assessment, an information booklet including advice on how to reduce their risk, and signposting to a pharmacist or GP, depending on the risk identified, explained the company.
Osentia is now available at Superdrug online and will be available to community pharmacies to stock from February 2017.
