NPA petition nears 100,000 signatures

The National Pharmacy Association has achieved nearly 100,000 signatures in support of community pharmacy since it launched its petition against funding cuts two weeks ago.

Ian Strachan, NPA chairman, said: “The time to act is now! The petition is a really important element of the campaign, because it gives patients a straightforward opportunity to express their concerns, and we know that support from patients is needed to make the Government change from its disastrous course”.

To this end, from 14 March, independent pharmacies across England will receive a petition pack to help rally even more support. The pack includes:

  • Blank petitions for completion
  • Support Your Local Pharmacy badges, for staff to wear
  • A Support Your Local Pharmacy window poster
  • A pre-paid envelope to return completed petitions to the Campaign Centre.

Further materials, including a larger poster and additional petition sheets, will be delivered the following week.
