If a customer presents with a severe sore throat and the symptoms below, refer to the GP, as they may have glandular fever.3

  • Extreme tiredness or exhaustion
  • Fever
  • Tonsillitis that has not improved
    (symptoms typically improve within 3-4 days)
  • Feeling hot and shivery

Note: if you are unsure of the symptoms a customer is presenting, always refer to your pharmacist
