Three ‘Pharmacy Stars’ have been announced as part of a new initiative from Nurofen for Children to help share best practice in child health among pharmacy teams.Roger Humbles, pharmacist at Fourway Pharmacy in Herne Hill; Ian Ainsworth, pharmacist at Rowlands Pharmacy in Liverpool; and Lesley Williamson, healthcare advisor at Boots, Cumbria (pictured) were deemed to be the best of the best following a nationwide search for people who had gone above and beyond the call of duty to serve parents and their children. Based on nominations from mums, the three pharmacy team members were chosen by the Independent Pharmacy Federation and Nurofen for Children.

“It’s nice to know that the level of service we always try to provide is appreciated by the customers,” said Lesley Williamson, who has been a healthcare advisor at Boots for nine years. The scheme was launched following research commissioned by Nurofen for Children revealed that three-quarters of pharmacy teams surveyed would like more training on how to give the best advice to mums on treating children’s fever and pain.
