The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) is urging community pharmacy teams across the UK to start gearing up for this year’s No Smoking Day, which will take place on 12 March.

The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘V for Victory’ and the aim is to inspire thousands of smokers to win their battle over cigarettes. Free event packs, including posters, leaflets and a handbook, are available for pharmacies to order via: nosmokingday.org.uk

Howard Duff, RPS director, said: “Pharmacists are perfectly placed to spread the word about No Smoking Day and help people ditch their cigarettes for good.” In previous years, pharmacy teams have supported the campaign through various activities, such as carbon monoxide readings for patients waiting for prescriptions, poster competitions and information sessions for children.
