As pharmacy gears up for Self Care Awareness Week (17-23 November), Mentholatum is stressing the importance of self care and the vital role pharmacy staff play in promoting the theme of this year’s initiative – Be Healthy This Winter. The manufacturer of category-leading brands Deep Heat and Deep Freeze, as well as Deep Relief is providing pharmacy teams with support via its training programme, ‘the Academy’ to increase the expertise of pharmacy staff in giving self care advice.

“Our research has shown that customers need help to identify which type of topical analgesic – hot, cold or topical NSAID – is appropriate for their particular needs,” says Jillian Watt, Mentholatum’s director of marketing/NPD. “And they also need advice on how best to use the products to gain the most benefit.”
