Be flexible, be professional

APTUK president Tess Fenn kicked off the Association’s 60th annual conference with a call to action for pharmacy technicians to be flexible and professional in their practice. The theme of this year’s conference, she said, was celebrating practice and continued patient-centred care and how pharmacy technicians can continue to empower patients to get the most out of their medicines. “It is about you being a professional,” said Tess. “And you applying your professional behaviour and attitudes to your everyday work.”

However, she noted the challenges that pharmacy as a whole faces in helping patients: “Pharmacy practice and healthcare continue to move at such a pace and to meet these challenges of patients and their lifestyles, we need to be flexible. We need to work together with our patients and with their carers to deliver their medicines safely and where it suits them best.”
