There are several factors to consider when choosing a specialist formula for CMPA, and you should be aware of them in case parents ask you questions about the formula that has been prescribed for their infant.
You may also need to consider a customer’s cultural or religious beliefs when advising on formula. Some formulas will be hydrolysed using porcine enzymes making them unsuitable for a halal or vegetarian diet.12
