Between the ages of six and 12 months, milk will remain a significant source of nutrition for babies, although they will be eating some solid food as well. Two important issues at this stage are the type of milk appropriate for this age group (i.e. breast milk, infant formula and follow-on milk) and the need to get a baby used to a beaker or cup.

  • Have a look at the infant formula milks you stock and compare their nutrient levels with those in follow-on milks. What are the key differences? Could you explain these differences and why they exist to a mum who has planned to stop breastfeeding and is returning to work?
  • Getting a baby to drink from a cup can be difficult, so you want to be sure that your pharmacy offers a good choice. Have a look at the cups and beakers you stock in the pharmacy. Study wholesaler pages and see if you could improve your range.
