Recognition of Excellence 2020

Aleksandra Hajdecka

When Aleksandra got her masters degree in economics and agriculture in Poland, the last thing on her mind was pursuing a career in pharmacy in the UK

But having moved to London to study English, she saw a job advertisement for a pharmacy and decided to go for it. The rest, as they say, is history. She has climbed the ranks to become an accuracy checking technician and supervisor at Simmons Pharmacy in Cockfosters, London.

Now a mum herself, Aleksandra has a particular affinity with the growing number of mums and babies that visit the pharmacy, and she has undertaken special training in infant skincare. “My own son, who is six now, had eczema when he was young, so I wanted to build up my knowledge about it. I help the mums with babies with rashes and other problems,” explains Aleksandra. “It makes me so happy when I have recommended a sample and they come in the next day and buy the product and they tell their friends.”

All the RoE judges were full of praise for Aleksandra’s dedication and her desire to further her knowledge to benefit her customers, especially those with young children, and awarded her highly commended in the Infanct Care Champion category. “Aleksandra’s Infant Care Champion nomination demonstrates her professional growth and how she has used personal experience to enhance the care she can offer to new mums and babies,” says APTUK president Liz Fidler.
