Alcohol misuse: part three

This module is the first in our CPPE series looking at the role of the pharmacy team in supporting people with alcohol problems. It will consider the screening tools that can be used to identify people with alcohol problems and the brief advice that pharmacy teams can provide.

Learning objectives:

• Be aware of the screening tools that can be used to identify people who may be at risk as a result of their alcohol intake
• Understand how to use the AUDIT and AUDIT-C screening tools to assess an individual’s alcohol use
• Be able to describe the role and characteristics of brief advice.
