For the first year of their life, any equipment used in infant feeding should be sterilised. What advice would you give about sterilising equipment?

There are many opportunities to advise parents on the type of equipment they need and how it can be used. Take the time to read, understand and pass on the instructions on how to use it. 

Think about:

• How the equipment should be cleaned first
• Whether equipment can be sterilised in a dishwasher
• How to store sterilised bottles
• Within how long sterilised equipment should be used.
