Hello lovely readers! A very warm welcome to our October issue. This has always remained one of my favourite months – no, not just because of The Pharmacy Show, but because I love the autumn and especially Halloween.
Speaking of spooky, we have seen that ultra-processed foods (UPFs) have hit the headlines a lot recently. You can read our Public Eye for more. UPFs are certainly a buzzword of the time, but what are they and what impact are they really having on our health?
I mentioned The Pharmacy Show earlier and I am really looking forward as ever to meeting you, our dear readers, in person and listening to the forward thinking discussions that take place throughout. I am delighted to see the inclusion of the Pharmacy Technician Threatre once again and to report on the pharmacy world as pharmacy technicians continue to become more established. It is exciting to be a part of history whilst it is happening. Do come and say hello to our team on stand G45, whatever your role in the pharmacy team. I hope you get the most out of the Show!
We have come to the final condition in our Pharmacy First series written specifically for the whole pharmacy team, with acute otitis media. However, we are delivering a communications module surrounding Pharmacy First next month – this too will be useful even if you don’t provide the service, as communication is key and certainly a well needed trait for everyone on the pharmacy floor.
