Red flags
Refer the following cases to the pharmacist:
- There is blood in the customer’s urine
- The customer has a fever
- There is vaginal discharge
- The customer has diabetes or is pregnant
- The customer is male and/or under 12 years old
- Symptoms do not improve after 24 hours of treatment
- There is pain in the lower back or abdomen
- The symptoms keep recurring
- The customer is taking other medication
- The customer has had cystitis for longer than three days or it is their second bout in a month.
