Pharmacy is perfectly placed to provide the new flu service and there are many advantages for patients in having their vaccination at your pharmacy.

In this Team Tuesday session, we’ll be asking you to think about some of those benefits, as well as the common cough and cold symptoms that can afflict all of your customers. Be prepared to offer advice and products for coughs, colds and flu so your customers can get themselves better quickly and avoid a visit to the GP by nipping these ailments in the bud.

Prevention is important too and there’s lots of advice you can give to help reduce the transmission of colds and flu. Getting a flu vaccination (if you are eligible) is important, but so is washing your hands, getting rid of tissues fast and even getting plenty of exercise can help to prevent these winter ailments.

Although customers with these illnesses are familiar to pharmacy staff at this time of year, don’t let familiarity breed complacency. In this training, you’ll find some new ideas for ways that you can help your customers. Make sure yours is the pharmacy that customers want to visit for their flu vaccinations and/or when they’re feeling under the weather with a cold or cough.
