Training Matters welcomed our finalists to the 13th Recognition of Excellence Awards in the heart of London at the House of Commons, on Friday 12 June. MP for Watford, Matt Turmaine, welcomed attendees before we heard from our insightful guest speaker, Stephen Leadbeater.
“Community pharmacy support teams are the welcoming face and dependable backbone of local healthcare,” said Kerry Greenaway, assistant editor of Training Matters. “Medicines counter assistants, pharmacy technicians, Saturday staff and delivery drivers help patients across the country access advice, medicines and reassurance every day, often under intense pressure.
“It’s not easy work. It’s demanding – but it’s vital. Their commitment to caring for their patients keeps pharmacy services moving, supports vulnerable people, eases pressure on the wider NHS and strengthens community wellbeing. In these challenging times for pharmacy, I’m sure you’ll agree when I say that what they do – day in, day out – is humbling and truly inspirational.”
