Boots UK has pledged to create 350 new apprenticeships for young people through its new Healthcare Colleague Apprenticeship programme. The apprentices, who will be aged between 16 and 18 years, will get the chance to gain full-time permanent employment while learning on the job and training towards a Level 2 NVQ. By taking part in the 12-month programme, apprentices will provide customers and patients with healthcare information and advice, as well as taking an active role within the dispensary team, enabling them to make a difference to their communities.
Marc Donovan, head of healthcare HR, Boots UK, said: €As one of the largest employers in the UK, we have the opportunity to play a big role in supporting young people into work and developing them in their careers.€ Applicants for the scheme will need GCSE Maths and English at C or above, as well as enthusiasm and motivation to succeed.
