Training Matters (TM) is delighted to announce Pancreatic Cancer Action as the official charity partner for the Recognition of Excellence (RoE) Awards 2019.
Pancreatic cancer is the eleventh most common cancer in the UK, with almost 10,000 people being newly diagnosed each year and there are around 338,000 new cases each year worldwide.
Pancreatic Cancer Action is the only UK charity specifically focusing on improving pancreatic cancer survival rates through early diagnosis. The charity provides free resources and e-learning for healthcare professionals, including pharmacists and pharmacy teams; raises awareness of the condition, as well as funding for more research; and campaigns for change on a global level.
Commenting on the partnership, TM’s editor Helena Beer said: “We’re delighted to have Pancreatic Cancer Action on board as our charity partner for the RoE Awards again this year. Our partnership with them in 2017 was hugely successful and we were able to raise a significant amount of money and awareness for this fantastic cause throughout the pharmacy sector. We look forward to seeing what else we can achieve together going forwards.”
