Sanofi has announced the return of the original formulation Syndol Tablets for short-term tension headache and migraine relief after five years of absence.
Rolling out in the UK from the end of February 2019 and available over-the-counter in pharmacies, the tablets contain doxylamine succinate– a first generation antihistamine – as well as paracetamol, codeine phosphate and caffeine. The product provides short-term relief of acute moderate pain when paracetamol, aspirin or ibuprofen alone are not enough, Sanofi explains. Due to the codeine content, Syndol can cause addiction and should be used for three consecutive days only.
