Patient safety part three

Patient safety

 Learning Objectives

This is the third module in our series on the CPPE campaign on Patient Safety and it's accompanying guide on Risk Management. It is designed to give pharmacy technicians a better understanding of how to manage risk to develop and maintain a safety culture.

After reading this module, you will:

  • Understand the Swiss cheese model of accident causation
  • Understand why a ‘fair blame’ culture is important
  • Be able to define the root cause analysis and significant event audit approaches to incident investigation.
