APTUK launches new strategic vision

The Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) launched its strategic vision for the next three years at the Pharmacy Show today (8 October).

The strategy recognises the fast-paced nature of healthcare and how pharmacy professionals need to adjust to this, as well as setting out the Association's four leadership goals for the future: Leading, Expanding, Advocating, Progressing.

Commenting on the strategy, APTUK president Tess Fenn said: "It provides us with the tool on which to focus our activities and resources based on our four strategic goals and themes: leading our profession, expanding the influence and sustainability of APTUK, advocating the importance of the pharmacy technician role in delivering health priorities and transformation and progressing the profession’s development."

Previous APTUK strategies have been linked to the two year term of the president but the Association felt that a longer-term over-arching strategy was needed. It was therefore developed based on the ideas and discussions at APTUK's 'Professional Leadership with a Purpose' event which was held in January 2018.
