One-third of the sun's damaging rays are known as infrared-A (IR-A) rays €“ and these are the most deeply penetrating, causing both short- and long-term skin damage. Sun protection brand Ladival €“ the number one selling brand in German pharmacies, says Thornton & Ross €“ is the first mainstream brand to protect against IR-A rays, as well as UVA and UVB. The range offers protection against four times more of the sun's rays than standard UVA and UVB sunscreens, says the company, and includes dermatologically tested lotions and creams in SPFs 15, 30 and 50, plus a kids range, all accredited by the Skin Health Alliance. The non-greasy formula is water resistant, offers immediate protection and is suitable for sensitive and eczema prone skin, adds the company. (RRP £19.99.)
