Pharmacy Show focus

Editor's comment November 2024.

Hello lovely readers! The penultimate issue for 2024 comes to you from a turbulent month after Labour announced their budget and the US election results came in. It’s in these moments I try to recall Baz Lurman’s the Sunscreen song: “Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do, you’ll fantasise that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble...” and on it goes.

It feels too like an age since our last issue, as our October magazine went out early for you to all get your hands on at the Pharmacy Show (PS) 2024. If you were unable to attend this year, make sure you head to our round up to find out some key takeaways.

As you’ll read, much emphasis was put on self care at the PS and how empowering your customers and patients can really make all the difference to their health. We cover some hard-hitting topics for November, with heart health, diabetes and insomnia being some of the largest conditions plaguing the nation. I was astonished at some of the figures coming out of these features. See how much of a role self care can play here especially.

This month, we have the final module in our Pharmacy First series. It focuses on communication, so even if you don’t provide the service there might be some helpful tips. We are keen to support your communication with your customers so watch this space for January 2025 when we are launching a new series... as always, there is more to come!
