This month’s article looks at building healthy living habits among children – food, drink, exercise, sleep and screen time – as well as the common childhood ailments that parents are likely to seek advice on in the pharmacy.

Many of you will have young family members or friends with children and are probably well aware of the pressures involved in helping children to build healthy habits. The preceeding article aims to give you fresh ideas for how you can help parents, and those who care for youngsters with health issues that may be worrying them.

Building healthy habits features strongly in the article because unhealthy habits can be a source of illness in later life as well as childhood. Think too about other child-related issues. Do you get asked about other health concerns relating to children that are not mentioned in the article? Discuss with your team and make sure you are up to date in the advice and information that you provide.
