module menu icon Gathering information and advising customers

For this session, use our article on child health as well as other sources of information to strengthen your knowledge of children's health issues. This will give you more insight and information to pass on to your customers. You can use information sources you may have in the pharmacy, such as other articles, OTC medicines guides and manufacturer literature.

Take time to think and chat about building healthy lifestyles in children. Also think about how children can improve their health €“ mentally and physically? What barriers do they face? How can you help?

The health of children is vital to their future health as adults, so it is important to try to promote good health early on. Scan magazines and newspapers for more ideas. For further inspiration, visit the websites listed in the 'information sources' section.

You will find plenty of information about child health issues in our article. Do you come across child health issues in the pharmacy that are not mentioned in the article? What are they? Do you feel confident enough to deal with them and do you know when to refer to the pharmacist or signpost a parent for further help?
