Your counter staff will be the first members of the team that customers will encounter in the pharmacy when asking about supplements, so their interaction with customers is vital when recommending vitamin D. Think about the following:

  • How can you ensure that your staff use their initiative when speaking to customers about taking vitamin D supplements?
  • How will they start conversations with customers?
  • Do they have the confidence to talk about the benefits of vitamin D supplements to customers?
  • Are they aware of the risks to customers if they are not synthesising enough vitamin D?

Consider holding a training session or undertaking role-play activities with your team to increase their confidence in talking to customers about vitamin D supplementation
