Steve Brine replaces David Mowat as pharmacy minister

Steve Brine has replaced David Mowat as pharmacy minister.

Mr Brine has been MP for Winchester and Chandler’s Ford since 2010 and served as parliamentary private secretary to health secretary Jeremy Hunt in 2015 and was most recently an assistant whip. He has also previously worked alongside the minister of state for disabled people. Mr Mowat lost his Warrington South seat in the recent general election.

PSNC chief executive Sue Sharpe commented: “We will write to welcome the minister to his new role and we look forward to meeting him at the earliest opportunity to discuss how we can work together to deliver the Government’s aim to develop a stronger clinical role for community pharmacy, and address the damage and threats we have faced in the last year.”
