A specific omega-3 and 6 supplement €“ Equazen eye q €“ could help to reduce symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children, according to a new study. The 12 month study, which evaluated 90 ADHD patients aged between six and 12 years, also revealed that when Equazen eye q was taken in combination with ADHD medication MPH, the dosage of medication required was reduced, so reducing the risk of side-effects, such as insomnia and tremors.
Independent dietitian Dr Carrie Ruxton commented: €The benefits of the specific omega-3 and omega-6 supplement in enabling the use of a lower dose of MPH, while reducing the side-effects of MPH, is really good news.€ Further studies are now required.
Equazen eye q is not just for children with ADHD, but offers an easy and convenient way to get omega-3 and 6 into the diet of people of all ages, adds Ceuta Healthcare.
