Customers come into the pharmacy on behalf of different people in their family: children, partners, siblings and parents, for example, as well as for friends and work colleagues. In all of these cases, you still need to ask the WWHAM questions. As a general rule, you need to refer to the pharmacist:

  • Anyone under 12 years old
  • Pregnant and breastfeeding women
  • Elderly people
  • People buying excessive quantities of the same product regularly
  • People who request certain medicines (e.g. the morning after pill).

The above also applies to customers who come into the pharmacy on behalf of someone else who may fall into one of the above categories.
