Managing a busy time of year

Editor's comment October 2025.

Hello lovely readers! I can’t believe I am writing to you for our October issue already!

We know this time of year is incredibly busy for the pharmacy, with flu vaccination season kicking into gear, winter health, revalidation and much more. So, as ever, we are here to support you in being able to confidently support your patients.

Our category features this month cover wound care, diabetes and allergy management – including signposting for your patients to further support. With pharmacy teams continuing to play a larger role in diabetes management and care, it’s crucial for you to have a clear distinction of type 1 and type 2 diabetes; their causes, difference and approach to management.

The cold winter air combined with indoor heating can be harsh on the skin and exacerbate certain conditions like eczema. The TPA module this month aims to help you be able to recommend OTC and self care advice to enable customers to save their skin and avoid flare-ups.

Community pharmacy teams are unique in that they can be a part of a person’s health journey from start to end, even from life to death. The Public Eye feature takes a look at the ways in which pharmacy teams can play a crucial role in palliative and end of life care. Making the most of your unique relationships with your community can make every single one of your customers days a better one.
