Staff at Bedminster Pharmacy in Bristol showed their support for World Meningitis Day (24 April) by turning their pharmacy orange with information and resources from the meningitis charity Meningitis Now.

The team aimed to increase awareness of the signs and symptoms of the disease among both staff and patients and spread the message that ‘all meningitis matters’, as well as promoting and supporting pharmacy’s role in self care and engaging and empowering patients to make the right choices about their health.

Commenting on their awareness raising efforts, pharmacist Ade Williams said: “World Meningitis Day is a great day to begin raising awareness of the disease – meningitis can affect people of all ages not just babies and children. Providing information about the signs and symptoms of the disease in community pharmacy will help to save lives.’’
