In response to updated MHRA guidance for over-the-counter stimulant laxatives, Care has reclassified its Senna products from the brand’s stomach and bowel range, says manufacturer Thornton & Ross. The newly-named Care Senna 7.5mg Tablets Adult are now available in packs of 20 as a GSL product, and Care Senna 7.5mg Tablets 12 Years Plus are available in packs of 60 and 100 as pharmacy-only. Both products are herbal medicinal products containing senna pods and can be taken orally for the short-term relief of occasional constipation, exclusively based on long-standing use as a traditional remedy, explains the company. Care Senna is suitable for children over 12 years, adults and the elderly.
