Learning disabilities: part four

This module is the fourth in our CPPE
series looking at the role of the pharmacy team in supporting people with a learning disability. It will consider the challenge of problem behaviours associated with learning disabilities and how to manage them, as well as considering mental health disorders that might be present concurrently.

Learning objectives:

• Understand the term ‘behaviour that challenges’
• Identify how you can support people with a learning disability, and their carers to manage common significant symptoms associated with behaviour that challenges
• Be aware of practical ways in which you can support people with a dual diagnosis of a learning disability and mental health problem.
