Learning disabilities: part one

This module is the first in our CPPE series about learning disabilities.

This module is the first in our CPPE series looking at the role of the pharmacy team in supporting people with a learning disability. It will consider the different definitions of learning disabilities, the range of implications that these can have on a person’s day-to-day life, and the key drivers for change in the way pharmacy professionals support people with a learning disability.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand what a learning disability is and the potential causes
  • Be aware of the four categories of severity of learning disabilities and the implications that these can have on day-to-day life
  • Be able to describe key drivers for change in the way pharmacy professionals interact with people with a learning disability.
