Who is it for? You will need to find out the age of the child.
What are the symptoms? This will help you establish the cause of the problem. Remember to refer to the pharmacist if you are not sure.
How long have the symptoms been present? This will help you find out if a condition such as eczema has been triggered by an irritant substance or food, such as cow's milk.
Action already taken? Find out if the customer has already tried a product that hasn't helped, as this will help you establish what is causing the problem.
Medication? It is important to refer to the pharmacist any child who has an established medical condition or is taking any other medicines.
When to refer to the pharmacist
- If a child has eczema that is painful and appears to be infected
- If cradle cap has spread to the face, neck or buttocks
- If a case of nappy rash fails to respond to barrier creams or seems to be spreading
- If you think nappy rash has developed into a fungal or bacterial infection.
