The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) has launched a new e-learning programme, ‘Accessible Information Standard – making it work’, to improve the skills and understanding of pharmacy teams in implementing the Accessible Information Standard.

The standard is designed to ensure that people who have accessible information and/or communication support needs due to a disability, impairment or sensory loss receive information in a suitable format, ideally of their choice.

Learners will be able to discuss how they can meet the standard’s requirements by identifying and supporting patients with communication difficulties, as well as sharing their learning to other members of the pharmacy team.

All NHS service providers in England must fully comply with the Standard by 31 July this year.
