GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has launched Voltarol Back and Muscle Pain Relief 1.16% gel (diclofenac diethylammonium) with ‘No Mess’ applicator. The launch comes after a brand survey revealed that the sensation of physically touching the gel, is one of the greatest barriers to purchase for 27 per cent of pain sufferers. The applicator opens in three steps (unlock, pop, apply) and allows users to apply the gel directly to the area of pain and rub the gel into the affected area, GSK explains. The gel provides targeted pain relief that is up to three times more effective than non-medicated gel, relieving pain, reducing inflammation and helping to speed-up recovery, the company adds.
