Britain's best pharmacist

Britain's best pharmacist

Reena Barai has been crowned Britain's best pharmacist by the readers of Woman's Weekly magazine, following a nationwide search for pharmacists who go the extra mile for their patients.

The competition, run by the magazine and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, asked patients to nominate their pharmacists, and Reena, who owns S G Barai pharmacy in Sutton, Surrey, fought off stiff competition from four other shortlisted pharmacists. €Pharmacists and their staff really are the unsung heroes of the high street and the NHS,€ said Reena. €This competition has hopefully shone some light on the important role every pharmacy plays in their local community.€

Reena, who has run the pharmacy with her mother since her father's death in 1995, was nominated by patient Clare Blake.€Reena is not only a very knowledgeable pharmacist like her father, but also has a charming disposition and always has a smile and time to answer questions and advise accordingly,€ said Clare.
