The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) has launched new distance learning programme on cancer.
The programme highlights the important role community pharmacy can have in effectively supporting people living with cancer, as well as their relatives and carers, and will help pharmacy teams integrate cancer prevention into their practice.
Andrew Taylor, programme developer and learning development pharmacist at CPPE, says: €We have completely revamped the 'Cancer: in relation to pharmacy practice' open learning programme to form this new distance learning programme. It concentrates on the patient and their carers and how the pharmacy team can support them from the time of diagnosis, throughout their treatment and beyond.
€We focus on patient-centred care and promote the use of shared decision-making with your patients and carers in order to support medicines optimisation. Using a wide variety of media such as videos, apps and websites the programme will appeal to all learners.€
