Rowlands' training gains RPS accreditation

Rowlands Pharmacy has become the first organisation to be accredited as a Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Foundation Training Provider.

Committed to continuing the education and development of its pharmacists, Rowlands Pharmacy has a strong partnership with schools of pharmacy across Great Britain and has recently launched the Rowlands Foundation programme to provide further training and support for pharmacists entering the profession and during their early career.

Since the first 14 Rowlands' pharmacists started the programme in August, the RPS has recognised and accredited its high standard of provision and training. RPS director of professional development and support, Dr Catherine Duggan, said: €This accreditation also further recognises Rowlands' commitment to improving patient care and the public's health by further developing its pharmacists. We look forward to accrediting more RPS Foundation Training Providers in the future.€

Kenny Black, managing director of Rowlands Pharmacy, added: €As a business we are always keen to invest in education and development, and partnership working is key to the success of any programmes we develop and deliver. We believe the RPS vision of pharmacists being 'the healthcare professional entrusted by patients to take care of their every pharmaceutical need' aligns with Rowlands ethos of investing in our pharmacists and their teams to enable them to provide sustainable health and wellbeing services at the heart of their local community.€
