The NHS Stoptober campaign is set to make a return this year and aims to help thousands of people quit smoking for 28 days and beyond by providing free, specialist support.
This national stop smoking challenge is the perfect opportunity for pharmacy teams to engage in conversation with customers about quitting smoking and offer tailored advice, including discussing nicotine replacement products and introducing smoking cessation services.
The campaign launches in pharmacies on 3 September to encourage people to sign up. Stoptober itself runs from 1 October.
Pharmacies can get involved by ordering the Stoptober toolkit which includes posters, leaflets, balloons and badges. The toolkit can be ordered free of charge from 0300 123 1019. The order line is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, until 28 October 2015 or while stocks last.
