A new website has launched to help the approximately one million men in the UK who suffer from Peyronie's disease.
Peyronie's disease causes the penis to bend when erect because of an abnormal plaque of collagen under the skin. The condition can have a huge impact on emotional and psychological wellbeing, with half of affected men suffering from depression and relationship problems, according to research.
The website €“ thisispeyronies.co.uk €“ has been devised by international healthcare company Sobi to provide information, support and advice on treatment options to men with the disease.
Peyronie's affects around one in 20 men in the UK, although this figure is thought to be underestimated because the disease is greatly under-reported.
David Ralph, consultant urologist at the Institute of Urology in London, said: €There is very little information out there about Peyronie's disease, so we hope this website will help men with the condition at whatever stage of their journey.€
