Pharmacists have come out on top of a list of the UK's most trusted professionals in a recent online poll.
The survey, which was commissioned by the Vet Futures project and carried out by market research agency ICM Unlimited, revealed that 97 per cent of Britons either generally or completely trust the advice they are given by community pharmacists.
In the poll of more than 2,000 people, pharmacists were deemed more trustworthy than a wide range of professionals, including GPs, dentists, head teachers, police officers and solicitors, while opticians and vets came in joint second place.
The survey also revealed that 87 per cent of participants who had used pharmacy services were either satisfied or very satisfied with the service they had received, again putting pharmacists in the top ranking position.
